Apollo's Gyros is a street food truck chain that serves Greek cuisine. Retro pizzeria designs and the rubber-hose style inspire the brand.
The logo takes inspiration from retro pizza box art from 1950s New York and places the product front and centre. The logo itself is a logotype, featuring bold, angled typography accented by a Greek key pattern, which is incorporated throughout the brand. There are two variants of the logo, one with Greek key patterning and one that utilises the five horizontal blue bands of the Greek flag.
A monochromatic colour palette of different blues was introduced, related to the greek flag, as well as a 'plum' accent colour used mainly for text.
A common feature of retro pizzeria designs is the mascots. For Apollo's mascot inspiration was taken from the recent renaissance of the rubber hose style of the 1930's. In sticking with the name of the brand, an anthropomorphic gyro was created in the aforementioned style with halftone dots used for shading.
The badge logos were inspired by stamps of authenticity that are prevalent within New York Pizza joints. The badges organise the Greek Key pattern radially with the main logotype centred within the circle. There are three variations: One with just the logo, one with the logo and strapline - "Prophesying Seriously Good Food" - and one with only the mascot.
